The terminal client (gte.exe) can be used in two modes: from the command line or as a graphic user interface program. Both modes allow passing of a complete set of application call parameters. Most important parameters are:
- application server address
- name of the launched application
- working directory of the application
- application parameters
- Terminal server or Windows user name
- access password
- transmission compression parameters
- cursor optimization parameters
- printer mapping parameters
Additionally, emulation of different network link throughputs can be requested from the command line. This allows to test the performance of the application on different network links without having physical access to such networks.
